Welcome to Got A Minute!!!
Well, you may have noticed that we did NOT do a performance this past fall. It was a tough decision to make, but to be honest? After 5 years...we were TIRED! And now that my job is to produce about 80 events a year, my ability to focus on the show...well...it just isn't there. so, it is with sadness and a small tear that i wirte that we will NOT be doing Got A Minute in 2012. i will ALWAYS support Cancer research, and will post when i am walking...i just can't produce the show like you've seen in the past. GAM is not dead, just on hiatus until we have the time and energy to DO IT RIGHT!

many thanks to all who have watched us grow...5 years and over $100,000.00 ain't too shabby!

Keep up the fight against cancer!

2010...another success story!
As PROMISED...the show was a BLAST and we raised over $25,000.00 for our cause. But not without the love and support of hundreds of volunteers and audience members! So...a heartfelt THANK YOU! to everyone who was a part of our 2010 show!

We are able to announce that The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation received a donation of OVER $25,000.00!

All because of YOU , and several hundred of your friends!!

It's hard work...lots of hours...absolutely NO pay...but it's an AMAZING experience...really it is!

But then, if you saw it...well you know!!

Press release! 2010 GAM a SUCCESS!

GOT A MINUTE? FULFILLS $25,000 PLEDGE

TO MOFFITT CANCER CENTER FOUNDATION

Sarasota, December 22, 2010 – The 5th anniversary Got A Minute? (GAM) collaboration with The Players Theatre has successfully given the final check to The Moffitt Cancer Center earlier this month. Accepting the check was Jim Deering, Associate Development Director of The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.

The checks, totaling over $25,000.00 were all earmarked for RESEARCH. After completing a tour of The Moffitt facilities in Tampa, the producers, learned that the greatest need is for research funding. Got A Minute? founder Jeffery Kin states “Many of the GAM group were given a wonderful tour of the facilities, and had opportunities to talk with the researchers. This convinced us that this was the perfect place for our 2010 fund raising dollars.”

The GAM Group and Players Theatre are also proud to announce their continued collaboration for the NEXT Cancer Benefit that will be in 2012. No specific dates have been set, but the creative team is working hard to bring you the NEXT chapter in the Got A Minute dream.

Scripts are now being requested for this 6th annual festival of short plays. All scripts that follow the guidelines of “Overcoming adversity” and are between 1 minute and 6 minutes in length will be accepted through June 1st, 2012. Plays can be emailed to eclectic_tc@comcast.net . There is no compensation for a play being produced. Please be sure to include your name, address and contact information.

Got A Minute is the brain child of local theatre enthusiast Jeffery Kin. Supported by an outstanding all volunteer group, each Got A Minute is a fundraiser where 100% of the ticket proceeds go directly to their chosen cause. Over the past 5 years, over $100,000.00 has been donated to Cancer Fighting Organizations such as: Susan G. Komen Race for the cure, The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation and The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides for Breast Cancer.

For more information, contact Jeffery Kin at (941) 365-2494, or Pamela Wiley (941) 358-7675.

Why we walk the walk & talk the talk...
This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words, "You have cancer," and there's a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. I have chosen to fight back against this disease and help make a difference. I hope you will join me.

With your help we can defeat this disease.

Hope starts with me and it can continue with you.

Tales of Mousie...
